Nigeria: Ashleigh Plumptre, who plays football for Leicester and was a 25 times English youth international, will play for Nigeria from now on – all the paperwork has been done and all the clearances obtained. Ashleigh Plumptre has a Nigerian grandfather.

South Africa: A major fire has broken out at the Parliament in Cape Town. The roof has partially collapsed and the fire has spread to the assembly Hall where the lower house (currently not in session) meets. What caused the fire is not known.

Sudan: Abdalla Hamdok has resigned as Prime Minister saying that “a new agreement was needed for Sudan's transition to democracy”. According to the Sudan Central Doctors' Committee (pro-democracy) 2 more people were killed in the mass protests today Sunday.
